Happy 2nd Birthday, dearest Raeanne!

Happy Birthday! =) Mummy knows this post is really late.. I had intended to write this for you after our day out on your birthday.. Unfortunately, mummy fell sick that night.. and then followed with days of fever, flu and cough.. =( And I thought I could enjoy my last week of ML with my 2 precious princesses...

Anyway, let the story begin now... =)

Early in the morning, darling, mummy, 外公,外婆accompanied Chloe to the hospital for her routine check and immunization.. Mummy had actually scheduled Chloe's appointment to be on 22nd June instead, so that mummy could spend your special day with you.. But cos Prof Ho will be on VL on the 22nd, our appointment was changed to the 21st..

After Chloe's check up, we headed back to 外婆 's house so that you could catch some sleep before we headed out to Vivo City.. Shortly after you woke up at about 4pm, off we went!!!

It's been so long since mummy wrote anything for you.. Not cos there hasn't been any updates.. In fact there's so much that mummy wanted to write for you and to you.. But mummy's been so stressed out and tired lately that I simply do not have much time and energy to do so.. Sorry, precious lil' one.. For spending so little time with you and doing so little for you lately..

Though it's been just several hours since we 'separated', mummy's missing you so much now that... I just had to write something.. write to you.. Silly it may sound, but it does seem to 'relief' some of my misery.. my missing you..

Precious lil' darling, thank you for being so loving towards mummy... Thank you for giving mummy such a big hug and calling mummy "宝贝".. It really took me off guard.. And mummy was so touched.. Totally melted... :)

Precious sweetheart,

It's been exactly a week since the birth of your lil' sister, Chloe.. And I must say, you have been a very sweet sister! :)

Darling's 1st encounter with Chloe was through Skype.. Mummy was still in hospital then.. and your sister was just a day old when you 2 met.. That wasn't how we planned to let you 2 meet for the 1st time though.. But daddy and mummy missed you.. and we thought we could also let your 外公,外婆 and 阿姨s meet lil' Chloe since they couldn't come to the hospital to visit mummy cos they had to take care of you..

But things didn't go too well that day.. Darling was not your usual self that evening.. You were exceptionally quiet when we introduced lil' Chloe to you.. Normally when we talked to you about your lil' sister, you'd either display affection by kissing mummy's tummy or you'd raise your hand as though you want to hit her when you are in a bad mood..



You were neither that evening.. Darling was so listless and just stared at the computer quietly.. Daddy and mummy got so worried after that.. We were worried that darling was feeling hurt and sad.. Mummy's heart ached to see darling like that..

So mummy was really looking forward to seeing you the next day when mummy and Chloe could be discharged.. 外公 and 外婆 brought you back home.. Thank goodness, darling was back to your usual cheerful self and even requested repeatedly that you want to see your lil' sister.. And not just that, darling would always stretch out your hands and attempt to hug and kiss your sister.. :)

That was such a moving and beautiful sight.. :)



Daddy and mummy also finally presented you with the big carebear that we've been saving for this day! (Took mummy lots of effort to refrain from giving it to you before your sister was born!) And its meant to be a gift from your sister to you.. Well, this was supposed to reduce jealousy, if any was actually brewing within you..



But by the looks of it, we had worried needlessly.. On friday, after daddy and mummy brought lil' Chloe for jaundice check, we dropped by to see darling.. And darling was so happy to see us too.. Especially your lil' sister.. Darling's love for your sister was so overwhelming that we had to try and restrain you! Cos you kept attempting to hug your sister and carry her away from mummy.. Pat her all over and kissing her.. Offering her your fav yakult... and placing your fav handphone to her face asking lil' Chloe to 'Hello'! :) That really amused all of us.. Cos darling used to place your handphone to mummy's tummy asking your sister to say 'Hello'..

Precious lil' sweetheart, you've been an exceptionally big-hearted and loving sister.. and daddy and mummy are so touched by your love for your sister.. :) Sweetheart, daddy and mummy are really proud of you!:)

Happy 18 months old!

My precious princess, Happy 18 months old!

Mummy had such a great time today.. even though it's supposed to be your special day and not mummy's. =)But by the looks of it, darling had a great time too ya?

Well, not that daddy and mummy had planned any celebration for you.. In fact, we even brought you out for vaccination... But mummy's feeling happy cos it's been so long since mummy had the chance to spend so much time with you... And mummy's precious lil' princess is such a joy to be with..

Early in the morning, darling had breakfast with mummy at the table.. Yep, just the 2 of us, cos daddy hasn't been well these few days so daddy hasn't been sleeping with us.. For fear of passing on the bugs to darling.. And also, mummy didn't want the early bird in our house, aka darling, to wake daddy up before he had enough rest..

Okie, back to the breakfast.. =) And so darling and mummy shared 2 slices of peanut butter bread, darling's fav wheat biscuits and 'orange juice' for lil' princess, coffee for mummy! =)Simple fare, but enough to delight the 2 of us wasn't it? :)

Next on the agenda was the vaccination. Daddy was holding on to darling, while mummy stood behind daddy trying to distract your attention from the Dr... As the Dr counted 1, 2, 3... mummy was bracing myself for your cries just like before.. But to our surprise, darling's face didn't even cringe a teeny bit! It was as though nothing had happened at all.. Darling even happily waved the Dr goodbye and once outside the clinic, darling's fingers immediately laced through mummy's and said "walk, walk"... =)

Precious darling, you are such an amazing girl! - Those were daddy's exact words, when we talked about darling's performance today. =)

Though the fever was to be expected only about a week from today, daddy and mummy didn't want to risk bringing you out. And so we spent the rest of the afternoon at home watching darling's fav music videos, rolling in bed, drawing cat cat, pig pig and daddy on your magnetic drawing board (Yep, darling only wants mummy to draw those 3 for you... and you especially love mummy's drawing of daddy! =)) & walking around the house, holding either daddy or mummy's hand in one of your tiny own and your bear bear in the other...

These may sound so mundane, so everyday activities, so simple.... Yet, aren't the most beautiful things in life often the simplest things around us? :) As I close my eyes, I see all of darling's beautiful smiles, naughty expressions, hugging mummy when I least expect it, your sweet voice singing to daddy and mummy... all these bring so much warmth and love to mummy's heart.. :)

Precious lil' one, no doubt there are times you really drive mummy crazy... but you are really one of a gem... Daddy and mummy's precious lil' princess.. You always show us how much you love us too... with or without words.. And no matter how lousy mummy's day had been, a sweet smile from darling, a hug hug from you or a simple "I love u".. is all it takes to make mummy's day.. =)

Since the day you were born, daddy and mummy have been feeling so blessed to have such a sweet lil' angel to call our own.. Precious lil' Raeanne, thank you for bringing so much joy to daddy and mummy's life for the past 18 months.. and of cos, for the years ahead.. =)

Happy 1st Birthday Sweetheart!

Exactly a year ago, we first met.

And from that moment on, we fell in love with you. Truly. Madly. Deeply. =)

Of course, daddy and mummy loved you the moment we knew a lil' one was growing inside mummy.. But that was a more protective kind of love.

But when we first set our eyes upon the tiny lil' being, daddy & mummy's world shone in a different light. It didn't matter that you were messy nor that you were soaked in blood & other gooey fluid. All we could see was a little angel.

Of course, looks can be deceiving.. Cos, at times, darling's behavior is all but angelic and leaves much to be desired..

Then again, over the past 12 months, darling has brought daddy and mummy (as well as anyone around you) so much love & joy that it's hard to remember the mischief that you are always up to.

Seeing sweetheart learning new things & develop day after day is the most rewarding experience. Especially these couple of months, when mummy had a chance to spend more time with you... Maternity leave part II =)

These last couple of months, darling has been very much more interactive than the initial 3 mths.. sleeping hours have also been reduced tremendously.. So that means all of your waking hours, mummy has to 'entertain' you.. At times, when you find that mummy has been using the same ol' tricks all too often, you'll protest.. Which is the main source of headache for mummy! Cos there are just those days when mummy really doesn't have so much energy to keep the restless you entertained nonstop! Not to mention my drying reservoir of creative juices needed to keep my lil' princess interested..

Thank goodness, mummy could always count on your playmates!=p

Of course, darling has made some very good progress lately too.. Like eating 2 bowls of porridge each time, milk feeding sessions are also not as challenging as before.. Darling has also been very interested in all sorts of food.. some of which mummy and daddy will always share with you, but some of which are strict 'no's!! Eg. Coffee (mummy don't think your lil' system can take any more caffeine.. or maybe I should say, mummy's body won't be able to take it if darling were to drink coffee!), chicken rice & even grandpa's beer (though that might give mummy a good night's sleep =p)!!

But what pleased daddy and mummy most was when u finally decided to change your crawling gear from reverse to gear 1!=) Not only that, darling has also started to take a few baby steps while holding on to mummy's hand & your cot railings! =)

Oh, and also not forgetting sweetheart's improvement speech-wise!=) Well, it probably helped that darling's such a talkative lil' babe... All it takes is a few demo & prompting, darling can usually pick up the word or understand what it refers to when we ask you about that.

And the latest words that darling had learnt to say is 'Bye-bye'! =)

Hmm.. mummy seems to be very off-track. It's supposed to be about sweetheart's 1st birthday.. and mummy seem to be writing your whole life story (alright, it's all but 1 yr) here.

Though darling could only look on & not eat most of the food, darling's protest did win you some tasting of the satay & of cos your very own birthday cake!

Precious little one, mummy hoped you had a great time today. For its your very first birthday. And mummy's only birthday wish for sweetheart is that, darling will grow up to be healthy & happy & lead a blissful life surrounded by loved ones. Just like tonight. =)
