My precious lil' girl,
Last night, you gave mummy and daddy another scare... As mummy was changing your diaper, I noticed some blood around your umbilical stub and stains on your diaper as well.. Mummy immediately asked daddy to come and see.. Mummy and daddy's main concern was that it's infected.. You are still so tiny and vulnerable.. If it were really a case of infected umbilical stub, my precious lil' girl will definitely have to be admitted.. Which mummy really can't bear to let you go through again.. At that point in time, inside mummy's heart was a voice screaming,'Bring her to a dr immediately!!' Mummy had to try very hard to calm myself down, not to panic.. I told myself, 'Ok, there's no pus, it's not foul-smelling, you're not having a fever.. and in fact, you were still sleeping very soundly!' That, plus daddy's reassurances after he did some research about this, eventually managed to convince mummy to wait till the next morning to see if the bleeding continues.. Thankfully, when mummy changed your diaper at about 3am, there was no sign of bleeding anymore..
But this morning, just as your grandma and I were about to bathe you, we noticed a bit of blood oozing out again.. Mummy's panic rose several notches.. Then, just a few minutes after putting you in your tub, your umbilical stub dropped off! Thank goodness, there wasn't any bleeding nor foul smelling discharges.
Well, maybe mummy and daddy may sound like we're over-reactive..(especially mummy) 'It's just the falling off of the umbilical stub', you may think.. But both of us had no idea what to expect for a normal falling off of umbilical stub.. Furthermore, you are mummy and daddy's precious lil' angel.. We can't and won't let anything happen to you..
Our precious lil' darling, mummy and daddy love you..
